Creating a balanced life in a season of stress and chaos

No matter how hectic your schedule gets, it’s essential to take a little bit of time each day to do something you enjoy. This could be anything from reading a book to taking a break to meditate. Remember: “me time” means different things for different people. All that matters is that you spend this time doing something that brings you joy.

Create a schedule

One of the main things that leads to stress and chaos is having no idea what to expect from a day or situation. Planning is a great way to alleviate this kind of stress. Create a schedulefor yourself so you can account for as much of your time as possible. This will help you create a routine and give you a more accurate picture of how you’re spending your time and where you can make adjustments. However, don’t let your schedule stop you from being flexible when new things arise.

 Set goals for yourself

You may not think goal setting can help you find balance, but the truth is it can be a great way to put things in perspective and give yourself something to look forward to. By setting realistic goals for yourself, with one of them being to find balance, you can stay motivated to tackle life’s challenges as you pursue the finish line you create for yourself. As you work on your goals, check in with yourself from time to time to assess your progress and celebrate when you reach a milestone.

 Find a workout routine that works for you

Everyone knows that working out has lots of physical benefits. Exerciseis a natural way to reduce stress and anxiety because it produces endorphins. Regular exercise can also boost your energy levels and increase your endurance. By taking some time to exercise every day, you can improve balance in all areas of your life. The key to being consistent is finding a routine that works for you. If you don’t feel like going to the gym, consider working out at home.

Learn how (and when) to say no

If overextending yourself is the root of some of your stress, it’s time to exercise your right to say no. Although saying no to friends, family, or co-workers isn’t always easy, sometimes it’s necessary. Before taking on any more commitments, ask yourself if you can really do what you’re agreeing to. If you feel that taking on another task or responsibility just isn’t in your best interest, remind yourself that it’s okay to say no.
